Heritage Custom Woodwork

Heirloom quality wood creations to make an impression and last a lifetime

My STORY

Crafting a Heritage: From Shattered Expectations to Promising Future

My woodworking journey did not begin out of leisure; it was forged out of necessity and sheer frustration. Like anyone building a home, I trusted the hired professionals to bring my vision to life. Instead, I was met with one disappointment after another. The project quickly became a nightmare of missed deadlines and bad communication. Watching my dream home suffer partly because of the contractors and partly my own ignorance was a turning point. Realizing they would never care about my home the way I did, I made a bold and terrifying decision: “I’m going to do the finish work myself!”

Stepping into the empty, half-finished structure, I knew the only way forward was to do it myself. I began buying the quality tools I needed for each project , began devouring knowledge, and spent long hours just figuring it out. Early on, every cut felt like a gamble, but with every corrected mistake, my skills sharpened and my perspective shifted. What started as a chaotic rescue mission evolved into a deep, consuming passion.

Today, those initial feelings of helplessness are entirely gone, replaced by absolute confidence. I didn't just finish my house; I transformed it. Every room now features fine craftsmanship and or custom, high-quality furniture built entirely by my own hands. Picking up the tools and embracing the challenge seemed almost impossible, but it ultimately forced me to unlock a talent I never knew I had—turning a story of shattered expectations into a promising  future.

Our Custom Process: How it Works

01

Send Inspiration, Context & Dimensions
  • Share Your Ideas: You kick off the process by emailing or texting me photos of the furniture style you love, along with your desired width, length, and height.

  • Tell Me About the Space: We will discuss exactly where this piece will live in your home or business. Knowing the room, the layout, and how you plan to use it helps me ensure the furniture delivers perfect real-world functionality and fits your space comfortably.

  • Explore Options: Your photos, room context, and measurements start our design conversation, allowing me to discuss what is structurally possible and what options will look best.

  • Choose Your Base: Together we will determine whether your design calls for a matching, hand-crafted hardwood base or a sleek, modern metal base.

  • Receive Your Estimate: I will send you a quote covering the details of the project, the price,  and delivery options based on your specifications.

  • Discuss any final details or questions and update quote as needed.

  • Agree to the quote and place deposit. (Usually 50% down)

02

Sourcing & Planning
  • Secure Your Build: Once a non-refundable deposit is made ( 50% of the total price), I head to local small-batch sawmills to hunt for the perfect rough-sawn lumber or live-edge slab for your project.

  • Choose Your Involvement: You decide how involved you want to be. You can leave the selection entirely up to me, or request that I text you photos of the raw wood options to review before I purchase and start cutting.

  • The "Wet-Down" Preview: Regardless of your involvement level, I love sending you a short video clip wiping the raw wood down with mineral spirits. This gives you a spectacular sneak peek at exactly how the natural colors and cathedral grains will pop once finished.

03

 Precision Milling & Crafting
  • Flattening & Prep: I bring the rough lumber into the shop and use specialized machinery to flatten, plane, and smooth the boards to perfection.

  • Natural Preservation: I carefully stabilize any natural cracks or checks using structural joints or clear resin, preserving the organic integrity of the tree without hiding its history.

  • Organic Finish: I strictly avoid stains and paints. Instead, we apply premium, zero-VOC hardwax oils that bond molecularly with the wood fibers, protecting your furniture while highlighting its genuine, rich color and texture. (There are options to tint the color of the wood, and we can discuss that during the design process.)

04

Final Delivery
  • Milestone Updates: You receive photo updates as your build nears completion, keeping you connected to the craftsmanship without ever needing to step foot in a dusty shop.

  • Flat-Packed or Fully Assembled: I utilize heavy-duty, component-based joinery, allowing us to safely transport your furniture and easily assemble it directly in its final room.

  • Scheduled Hand-Off: I coordinate a precise delivery window directly with you, bringing a piece of nature’s finest art straight to your doorstep.
